Signs of roaches
- Seeing roaches during the day, which usually means the population has outgrown its hiding places

How we treat roaches
We start with species identification, because German roaches respond to gel baiting and growth regulators while American and Oriental roaches are driven by moisture and perimeter entry. The plan changes accordingly.
Gel baits and bait stations are placed in high-traffic harborages - cabinet interiors, appliance motors, wall voids and outlets - so roaches carry the material back to the harborage. Insect growth regulators stop nymphs from maturing, which is what breaks the population.
For severe infestations, dust treatments in wall voids and outlets reach areas a spray cannot. In commercial kitchens, monitoring and documentation are part of the program so problems are caught before an inspection.
Exclusion finishes the job: moisture control, sealing gaps, and removing the food and water sources that let the population persist.
Prevention
Fix leaks and standing water, store food in sealed containers, remove cardboard clutter (cardboard harbors roaches), seal gaps at plumbing penetrations, and check groceries, appliances and secondhand furniture before bringing them in. In a multi-unit building, coordinated building-wide service is usually required.
